Banked resets

A reset you control is a different signal.

A banked reset is an account credit that can be redeemed when eligible. It should never be counted as evidence that a global reset occurred.

The distinction

Credit redemption is personal, not global.

A special reset is initiated by OpenAI and can roll out across eligible paid accounts. A banked reset is tied to one account and requires a deliberate redemption. Your natural weekly reset happens on the account’s regular schedule.

Do not redeem for testingReset Beacon will never ask you to spend a banked reset to verify an event. That would destroy the evidence needed to tell a global reset from a personal credit redemption.

Before redeeming

Record the state you will need later.

The product interface remains the authority for eligibility, balance and terms. Capture only what you need for your own comparison.

Credit balance
Confirm that a reset credit is actually available and note the displayed balance.
Current allowance
Read the relevant usage windows immediately before redemption.
Natural reset time
Keep the scheduled account reset visible so the two events cannot be confused.
After-state
Verify the allowance change and whether the credit balance decreased as expected.

Reset Beacon treatment

Banked credits never confirm public rollout.

Community reports that mention a redeemed credit are excluded from global rollout evidence. Personal confirmation also requires that no banked credit disappeared during the comparison window.

The site does not store OpenAI credentials or attempt a redemption on your behalf. Any future local account reader will upload only the minimum status change needed for verification, and only with explicit consent.
